Children can begin coaching from 3 years of age through our Munchkin Tennis program. Sessions are fun, active and age-appropriate, using play-based activities to introduce tennis fundamentals while developing hand-eye coordination, balance, movement, confidence and participation.

No. Players who do not yet have a racquet are welcome to borrow one of ours during their lesson to help them get started.

For players enrolled in a term of lessons, we recommend purchasing their own racquet so they can become comfortable using the same equipment each week.

It is important that the racquet is the correct size and weight, and Excel Tennis can assist with selecting the most suitable option.

Yes. Junior racquets suitable for Munchkin Tennis, Red Ball and Orange Ball players are available to purchase through Excel Tennis for $29.

Racquets can be purchased through the Excel Tennis Customer Portal or App under Make Booking. Alternatively, please contact us if you would like assistance placing an order.

Players should wear comfortable sports clothing that allows them to move freely. Tennis shoes are recommended, although flat-soled runners are also suitable.

Please bring a drink bottle and a racquet if you have one. Loan racquets are available for those who do not yet own one. In warmer weather, players may also wish to bring a hat and apply sunscreen.

Yes, subject to availability. If you join a term-based program after the term has started, you will only pay for the remaining sessions.

Preferred days and times may be limited once a term has commenced. If your preferred class is full, you can join the waitlist and we will contact you when a suitable place becomes available.

Unless you receive a text message from Excel Tennis advising otherwise, please assume your lesson is going ahead. Some programs, such as our Holiday Tennis Program, may continue using undercover or indoor activities. Postponed lessons will be rescheduled in accordance with our Weather Policy.

Make-up lessons may be available when at least 24 hours’ notice is provided. Please refer to our Missed Class Policy for eligibility and booking details.

No. Group lesson places are reserved in advance, and coaching costs remain the same whether a player attends or not. Eligible players may arrange a make-up lesson in accordance with our Missed Class Policy.

No. Current participants are automatically re-enrolled for the following term and receive priority placement unless Excel Tennis is advised otherwise before the stated deadline.

An advance payment notice will be provided before the next term, with payment processed on the scheduled date.

Junior players can progress to Junior Weekend Competition once they reach the Green Ball level and can serve, rally and understand basic scoring.
